A person's feeling of a stimulus is attributed to the brain. When the brain no longer releases dopamine, nothing is experienced. Therefore, the health of the brain is crucial for recognizing the exhilaration of stimuli. With aging, what once caused excitement may no longer evoke any feeling. A beautiful body or sand between your toes at the beach, let alone if the nose still is able to detect the smell of the ocean.
